What is the purpose of me starting this channel? Wherever you are working and whichever career you are in, you are directly and indirectly involved in sales. Sales is what brings revenue into your company, which in return pays your salary and bonuses.

I have seen many aspiring sales people who after 1-2 years have failed miserably in their conquest. It used to amaze me. I really thought they had a lack of drive and motivation which got them distracted. But I eventually realised they knew the final destination but did not have the clarity and skill sets to input into their navigation program.

That is when I came out with my 3 Pillars of Success. It is very applicable in sales and if applied correctly, will turn around your entire life into an upward sky rocketing path to sales success.

Let me introduce the first of the 3 pillars today and give a brief on each one of them. Moving forward, there are 7 strategies to each pillar which I will explain in detail in my upcoming blogs, videos and podcasts.

Let’s begin!!!

The first pillar is Time Management. This is one skill set that many fail miserably, abuse and misuse. They totally have no clue on how to maximize their time and not even close to mastering the art of time management. Why is Time Management very important? There are 7 main critical advantages.

  1. More Productivity - things become simpler and easier

  2. Less Stress and More Energy

  3. More Time in Hand - work-life balance

  4. Rate of Success is Very High - ability to achieve your goals and dreams

  5. Faster Career Growth

  6. Lesser Distractions

  7. Zero Procrastination 1. More Productivity

With proper time management, you can plan your day to day activities and ensure every day ends on a productive note. Once you identify your tasks of the day and categorize them in levels of difficulty and rewarding, you become more productive. Once you become more productive, it reduces your stress level.

2. Less Stress and More Energy

This brings me to my 2nd point. I hear this word all the time “STRESS” - starting from primary school kids all the way up to elderly people who have retired. Stress will never let you be productive and it will drain you off your energy and sometimes push you into depression. Proper time management will ensure you are more productive which leads to less stress. This increases the quality of work, life and balance.

3. More Time and Better Work-life Balance

Imagine this! What if you complete a task others take 12 hours in 6 hours? What can you do in this 6 hours?

1 hour - Read a chapter a day

2 hours - Gym

1 hour - Nap or Meditate

1 hour - Write a blog

1 hour - Whatever you feel like doing

Can you imagine how powerful your aura and mind conditioning will be? This is the critical aspect of time management. Time management creates the additional time for you to FOCUS on things which others neglect and it creates a more balanced work-life balance.

4. Increased Rate of Success

Who does not want to be successful? Even a housewife or homemaker wants to successfully complete her household chores effectively and free up time for herself to have her ME time - to do her massage, gym, manicure and pedicure and coffee sessions with her friends in a cafe. Once you have proper time management, more time frees up and that allows you to aim for bigger crazy impossible goals. This approach makes you achieve your actual goals effortlessly and in a shorter span of time. It also makes sure you can balance the other aspects of life as well - family, friends, hobbies and spiritual circle.

5. Faster career growth

Due to proper time management, I was able to be ahead of all my peers in my career graph. Since I was able to achieve my targets in half the time required, I managed to upgrade myself in other areas which helped me grow exponentially in my career. I completed my Chartered Financial Consultant certification and Chartered Life Underwriting certification in record time. I did my Neuro Linguistic Programming Master certification and Time Line Therapy certification to add to my resume too. It created space for me to read 30-40 books a year to keep value adding to myself and my career and spearheaded me to the top of the league since. I am yet to be displaced from the top till today - even after 20 years. It is possible only due to the application of Time Management secrets.

6. Lesser Distractions

Our brains cannot be focused for a longer period of time no matter how deep the purpose is. This is the reason why each period in school did not go beyond 45 minutes. If you look at current school timetable, it is purposely intended to slot in PE lessons in the middle of the classes. They have come to realize that humans cannot stay focused for longer periods of time and the pattern needs to be broken up with physical activities and lunch breaks. With Work-From-Home being the New Norm, it has become very critical to be able to complete our tasks on time. This prevents unnecessary distractions. I know of people, who get distracted in between urgent tasks and convince themselves they deserve a 15 min break. They start on one episode of Netflix sitcoms and end up stretching the break to 2 hours. If planned and executed well, no one will be able to keep pace with you.

7. Zero Procrastination

Due to abuse of time and poor time management skills, majority procrastinates on their tasks which compromises on their dreams. Most of their best dreams are written only as wishes in their diaries on January 1st as resolutions. Many procrastinate because they know they will take longer than required for that task and end up doing smaller achievable tasks which are called “Feel Good” tasks. They end up ignoring the “Revenue Generating” tasks. With proper time management skills, you can plan your tasks well, create more time and stop procrastinating.

Conclusion

Without proper time management, all your God-given intelligence, purpose and drive are of no use. Poor time management is like a hand-break in a car. No matter how much you throttle, your car is not going to move an inch and you will never reach your destination.
